Fair Welcome Center
Your guide to a great time at the Ag Fair is the Welcome Center, located just behind the ticket booth! Start your day of fun by picking up a schedule of events and a fair map. There are balloons for the kids and fair tee shirts for sale. You may also view the awards won by the 2010 Fair during the Virgina Association of Fairs Convention this January.
Community Jam Session – Thursday Evening, July 28th – 6pm to 10pm
We might not be the Floyd County Country Store Jam Session at the Louisa County Ag Fair, but join us for a Community Jam Session on Thursday Evening. Bring your guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bass or other instrument along with a chair to join fellow “wanta be” musicians and play a few tunes. This will be a very informal setting with all levels of musicians gathering to enjoy sharing various styles and form of music. It’s Louisa, so expect some Bluegrass Music!
Gate Admission required.
Dinner Under the Stars – Friday Evening, July 29th – 7pm
Join us under the stars for the annual steak dinner prepared by the Louisa FFA Alumni. The menu includes rib-eye steak, vegetables, roll and drink. You will not leave hungry! This is a very popular event and helps to raise funds to support our fair.
Teddy Bear Clinic
Sponsored by Louisa Veterinary Service
Does your stuffed animal have a boo-boo? If so, of if you are interested in learning how to repair your animals, please bring in your injured stuffed critter to the Teddy Bear Clinic. Real life veterinarians will be on staff to assist you in repairing your stuffed animals!
Story Hours
Mrs. Wishy Washy will grace our side stage at 11:30 on Saturday. She has a terrific story to tell the children about her farm and what she puts in her big, soapy tin tub. Mrs. W-W will be reading from her colorful book and every child will receive a complimentary copy from the Ag Fair, subsidized by Penguin Group (USA). A surprise page of Mrs. Wishy-Washy's book will come to life and visit this very special story hour. Parents, have your camera ready to snap a memorable picture of your child and Mrs. W-W and her surprise mode of transportation!
There will be TWO more story hour events at this year's Fair. During the Teddy Bear Clinic on Friday at 1:00 p.m., a nurse will read Animal Hospital with the children after they stitch up the wounded stuffed animals. The first 33 children will receive a complimentary copy to the book compliments of the Ag Fair, subsidized by Penguin Group (USA). An animated story teller will also be next to the Petting Zoo from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday to read the book Petting Zoo with the children. Several copies of this book will be distributed to children on each day, compliments of the Ag Fair and subsidized by Penguin Group (USA).
